Following the elections on 2nd May 2019, when one of the councillor positions was not filled, there remains a vacancy on the Abinger Parish Council in the South Ward of Okewood Hill, Walliswood and Forest Green. The council invites applications from people who want to be Councillors.

Abinger Parish Council performs a worthwhile and valuable function for the communities in the Parish. Regular activities include reviewing and commenting on planning applications, managing the village greens at Abinger Hammer, Abinger Common and Forest Green, playgrounds at Abinger Hammer, Abinger Common and Walliswood and representing the interests of the Parish generally.
