The Parish Council has considered how best to mark the Queen Elizabeth ll Platinum Jubilee. Councillors have decided to take part in ‘The Queen’s Green Canopy’ (QGC) initiative, following on from Her Majesty’s request to ‘plant a tree for the jubilee’

With a focus on planting sustainably, the QGC is ‘encouraging the planting of trees to create a legacy in honour of the Queen’s leadership of the nation, which will benefit future generations.’ The Parish Council will be investigating which trees to plant and where and will also look into funding opportunities with a view for tree planting to take place between October 2022 to March 2023.

We understand that some residents might wish to organise a local event to take place during the Platinum Jubilee bank holidays/weekend from 2nd to 5th June 2022.

The below link includes information as to how to get involved.

Please get in touch if you are thinking of organising any event to take place on any of the parish village greens or recreation grounds.
