The Parish Council need to make the below anouncement following the Resignation of Cllr Deadre Cunningham. Councillors would like to thank her for her long service and quiet dedication to all matters in the Paish, in particular her contibution to the Forest Green community.

NOTICE OF VACANCY IN THE OFFICE OF COUNCILLOR

ABINGER PARISH COUNCIL

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 a casual vacancy has arisen in the Office of Councillor for the said Parish,

Following the resignation of Cllr Deardre Cunningham

The vacancy will be filled by election if, within fourteen working days of the date of this notice, any ten local government electors for the said parish ward submit a written request to the Returning Officer.

If an election is called, it will take place as soon as practicable within 60 working days from the date of the notice of vacancy.

In computing these fourteen days mentioned above you disregard a Saturday or Sunday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Good Friday or a bank holiday.

If no such notice is given, the Parish Council will fill the vacancy by co-option and persons interested should notify the Clerk to the Parish Council.
